So if you’ve read my short story collection, (Mostly) True Tales From Birchmont Village, and thought how you might need a few more stories about this quirky and eccentric group, well, you’re in luck, because coming November 1, I’m releasing (Mostly) True Tales From Birchmont Village-The Complete Year, with five new stories further chronicling their near catastrophes and calamities. The new stories (and, thus, new perceived problems for these folks) are:

  • The Time Ted Canari Took a Beach Vacation
  • The Time the Potato Festival Finally Returned to Birchmont Village Only to Nearly Be Lost Again
  • The Time the Black Friday Sale at Lilabelle Durham’s Upscale Boutique Got a Little Out of Hand
  • The Time Movie Night Turned Into a Rock Concert
  • The Time the Johnson Family Moved

Pre-order is happening now at Amazon for Kindle, and there will also be a paperback version released on November 1 as well. So make yourself some s’mores, and pick up a copy!

Fiction

Hello my friends, and Happy Friday (and to my friends in the US, happy start of a long weekend!). For your weekend reading pleasure, I’ve posted a short story to my Medium page: After a prolonged absence, the Birchmont Village Potato Festival was back and in full swing, with plenty of fellowship and merrymaking–and potatoes!–when a shocking discovery threatened to put the festival in jeopardy. Read what happened “The Time the Potato Festival Finally Returned to Birchmont Village Only to Nearly Be Lost Again”–a never-before-published story just added to my collection (Mostly) True Tales From Birchmont Village, and part of an expanded edition due out later this year (just in time for the holidays!)

Chapbook

To mark the two-year anniversary of the publication of my chapbook, Three in the Morning and You Don’t Smoke Anymore, I’ve released a special, expanded e-book version, Insomnia Edition, which contains three new, never-before-published stories: “Shrink,” “Tattoo,” and “Karaoke Night.” It’s available starting today, exclusively on Amazon and for Kindle Unlimited. And if you haven’t bought a copy of the print version yet (and why haven’t you?!!!), I just posted on my Medium page a story from that, “Sometimes You See That Girl.” Have a great rest of the week!

Podcast

Hey everyone! I appreciate the positive responses I got from my last post, and if anyone is so inclined to hear me read my short story, “The Water,” it’s now available at Episode 6 of the Pocket Fiction Podcast – just forgive me if my voice sounds a bit nasally, I’m dealing with some summer allergies!

Fiction

Hello, my friends, and happy, um … what day is it, Tuesday? I lose track anymore. I haven’t posted lately because I’ve been busy working on some longer pieces, but I have had time to dash off a bit of flash, “The Water”, which is another in what I call my “Sadie Stories” – until I come up with a better name for it (and I still intend on putting all these together into one collection). Anyway, this story, via the link above, just went live today at Pocket Fiction, which has a lot of great writing, so definitely check this website out. I also just recorded a version of me reading this, which may end up on their podcast, and if so, I’ll provide more info. Have a great week!

Hello my friends, and Happy Valentine’s Day! I’ve just posted a short short to my Medium page called, appropriately enough, “Valentine’s Day.” I got the idea for this when I was walking in the park last week after a winter storm had come through, and the opening line just stuck in my head until I was able to get home and write it down. This is based on characters that are part of my collection, The Sadie Stories, which I am determined to put out later this year. Until then, enjoy this little piece of flash!

Fiction

Hello my friends, and Happy Monday! I’m excited to share with you that my short short “Ten Something in the Morning” – which, by the way, also appears in my chapbook, Three in the Morning and You Don’t Smoke Anymore – has just been re-published in Issue Ten of one of my fave lit mags, Fleas on the Dog, to commemorate ten issues. And I don’t mean to brag, but they refer to this piece, as well as the other stories in this issue, as “The Fabtastics – selections of some of the best stories published in past issues,” which I’m really proud of because they publish so many good stories. So give it another read if you like – here’s the link – and have a great week!
