Fiction

“3:45” is up today and featured at Fixional – this is a companion piece to “Three in the Morning and You Don’t Smoke Anymore” and part of a collection of vignettes that I’m working on.

Fiction

Just learned that my short, short, “Good Advice,” has been accepted for publication in the 16th print edition of the Crack the Spine anthology!

Announcements

R.I.P. Sam Shepard – one of my literary idols. When I was in college, I won a writing contest, and the prize was a $50 gift certificate at the campus bookstore, which I promptly used to buy up various collections of his plays – and which I continue to read and re-read today. He will be missed, but his prolific body of work, and the enigmatic characters he created, as well as the influence he has had on so many writers, live on.

Plays

Weathervane Playhouse’s 2017 8×10 TheatreFest opens today with performances through Sunday. If you’re in the Akron area, stop by and check out all eight finalists, including my play, “Good Things.” This year, the plays have to incorporate a box of tarot cards,  which was chosen by the audience members who attended last year’s 8×10 TheatreFest as the “inspiration” prop. Good luck to everyone involved!
